This northern Bavarian city still has much of its medieval architecture including its original stone fortification wall and the large stone towers that overlook its old town. Nuremberg was home to German artist Albrecht Durer, whose former home is now a museum housing many of his drawings and etchings. The Nuremberg Toy Museum, opened in 1971, chronicles Nuremburg’s history of toy making and is one of the world’s most well-known toy museums.
